Conflict Management for Peacekeepers Train-the-Trainer Course
The Training for Peace (TfP) Programme at ACCORD will be conducting a Conflict Management for Peacekeepers Train-the-Trainer course from 15-19 March 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The course is a response to the increasing demand for the conflict management curriculum by UN field missions and one of the anticipated outcomes thereof is there will be an increased ability for the field missions to conduct their own conflict management courses in-house and on demand.
Twenty-five participants from the Civil Affairs and Training Sections of six UN missions will partake in the course which is intended to help them gain a deeper understanding of the theoretical and experiential underpinnings and dynamics for the constructive management of conflict (with a focus on analysis, negotiation and mediation). Issue-based discussion and learning within and amongst the missions will facilitate inter-mission exchange of trainers as well as the sharing of experience.
