UN/AU Police Pre-deployment Courses
A Nordic team of Police trainers, together with Eastern Africa trainers, will and the end of 2009 have facilitated a total of five UN / AU Pre-deployment courses at Humanitarian Peace Support School in Nairobi for police officers going to AMISOM, UNAMID and the Eastern Africa Standby Force Roster.
Each course has had 60 students divided into two classes. The trainer team is lead by the Norwegian Police Directorate as part of TfP. Two of the courses are fully funded by Norway through the Training for Peace in Africa Programme. This initiative means that most police officers going to these peacekeeping missions will have received their pre-deployment training through the same training project.
