Training Courses

The Training for Peace in Africa (TfP) programme has since 1995 provided specialised needs-based training courses to UN and AU peacekeepers. The target groups of TfP are civilian personnel and police officers about to be deployed to or already deployed to an AU or UN peacekeeping mission.

More than 9000 civilian and police officers have received training provided under the auspices of the programme, and the TfP continues to provide training instructors as well as a wide range of specialized training courses. The partners of the programme are also involved in the development of AU and UN training standards and curricular.

Introductory information about the TfP training activities provided by ISS, ACCORD and KAIPTC can be found on this website. The organizations should be contacted directly for more information or with requests from the AU, Regional Economic Communities (RECs)/Regional Mechanisms (RMs) and the UN for training courses. Please use the links to the right to find more information about the different partner institutions.

The Norwegian National Police Directorate , supported by Nordic colleagues, contributes to mission specific training with TfP partners, as appropriate.
